Andrea N.Lasner,
MSPT

Andrea graduated from the University of Hartford with her master’s degree in physical therapy. Prior to that she trained and danced with the Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and New Jersey Ballet. Andrea is currently a full-time Physical Therapist. Additionally, she is Director of the Performing Arts Physical Therapy Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She treats a broad cross-section of general orthopedic diagnoses with a special interest in performing arts medicine with a Pilates-based approach. She has completed extensive education and training, leading her to being a Certified Instructor through Polestar® Pilates and the Pilates Method Alliance with comprehensive emphasis on rehabilitation. Andrea has presented dance medicine research on a national and international level at the American Physical Therapy Association, Performing Arts Medicine Association, CORP de Ballet International, and the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science annual conferences, of which she is an active member. Andrea is Adjunct Faculty at Towson University in the Dance Department. She teaches coursework in Pilates for Everyone and coordinates preventive dance screens annually for all dance majors with the innovative DanceFIT screening tool. For the past four years, she has been using IASTM on her patients as an innovative approach complementing her manual techniques. Andrea has also been instructing for HawkGrips since 2015.
